SALE! The DVICO TVIX HD M-6500A (Rev. 2) Digital Network Multimedia Player features an aluminum black face, the latest Sigma Designs SMP8635 processor, HDMI output and SATA Hard Disk support. New to this model is H.264 format playback with double the main memory of its predecessor. Simple to operate, the TVIX is a user friendly, simple alternative to the Home Theater PC, and perfect for a network A/V environment.

The TVIX HD M-6500A Digital Network Multimedia Player supports various audio/video formats such as MP3, WMA, PCM, DTS, WMV9 and WMV-HD, DIVX, XVid, HDV and MKV files recorded by digital camcorders, and standard transport streams that are recorded by todays HD devices, as well as the new H.264 (MPEG4) format. In a home network environment, the TVIX 6500 is a versatile media client that can operate from a Network Attached Storage (NAS) as well as USB devices with improved Ethernet throughput (50-60Mbs) of its predecessor. The portable TVIX HD M-6500A features SATA connection for hard disk installation and USB connection to transfer data between your PC and the player.

The TVIX HD M-6500A Digital Network Multimedia Player offers high quality HDMI and Component video as well as S-Video and Composite allowing connection to all types of displays. Networking capability supports video over LAN of low and high bitrate MPEG-2 (DVD and HD) as well as an optional wireless smart add-on (not recommended for High-definition 720p/1080i files). The TVIX is flexible enough to be connected to older standard definition TVs, HDTVs and PC monitors alike. The TVIX HD M-6500A also features both analog 2-channel and digital (Coax/Toslink) audio connections.

Connectivity

Avoid the hassle of transferring files from USB devices to the TViX through a PC. Connect your digital camera, MP3 or iPod® player, memory card readers and other USB external storage devices directly to the 2 USB host ports on the TVIX 6500 play multimedia files through to the TV and audio system.

Treat your TVIX HD M-6500A High-Definition Digital Network Multimedia Player as a network media adapter. Connect your PC to the TViX and stream digital videos, music and photos directly to the TV and audio system via the network with the built-in LAN port. No need to copy or transfer files.

The TVIX HD M-6500A High-Definition Digital Network Multimedia Player also functions as an FTP server for your home or small office/home office (SOHO). PC files saved in the TViX can be shared across network just like a media library.

I recently bought the TVIX 6500 HD box and I must say it is absolutely amazing. I was for a while thinking about getting the Apple TV box and I was on the verge of getting it but then I started to look at the file formats it supported, how big the disk inside of it was and what I could do with it . . . I put in a 500 GB disc in [my 6500] and I have all my fav. DVD's in .ISO format on it, some DIVX files, some XVID files, some .MKV files and more coming in as time goes by. I bought some Blu-ray movies and extracted the movies only and made them into .MKV movies. Works perfect. Sure it stumbles at times when you FFW and REW the .MKV files but so does my PC. .ISO files (DVD copies) work like a charm. No problems what so ever so far. This thing is the best thing since sliced bread :p … and you know what? It works the way you want it to.
